For a long time we have been seeing Maruthi Suzuki ruling the roost in our country. Their cars were primarily targeted at the middle class individuals who dreamt of owning a car. Maruthi Suzuki 800 was the favorite among the lot. It was economical, fuel effiecient and the spare parts were easy to get. At one point the roads were filled with Maruthi Suzuki car. They enjoyed a large share in the market along with Hindustan Motors.

Things changed when Hyundai came into the Indian Market and launched the Hyundai Santro. It was a fierce competitor to the Maruthi 800 and other Maruthi cars of the same segment. Thanks to it’s huge popularity in the Indian market, other car companies also managed to bring their cars to the Indian Homes. Slowly Maruthi started losing grounds to makers like Hyundai and Fiat that rolled out cars that impressed the Indian customers with its good performance. The latest entrant to the Indian market is Nissan.

Looks like with the reasonable success of the Nissan Teana and better understanding of what exactly the Indian consumers are looking out for, Nissan India seems to be gearing up strongly for its Micra small car launch in India. This beautiful car is expected to hit the Indian roads in the month of  July. This has created tremendous buzz among car enthusiasts that even the Nissan dealers across the country have already begun putting up the next big launch of the year on display at their showrooms.

The Micro is also open to bookings now. While the first Micra will be  rolled out from Nissan’s new facility in Chennai just about two months back in March, the car will be exported from India to the Middle East, Europe and Asia from the production hub.
