Commonwealth Games – A SMASHING SUCCESS!!!
The road leading to the Commonwealth Games was filled with thorns. every aspect of it’s preparation was filled with ambiguity. Many of us wondered if we could ever conduct the games on the expected level of magnitude. Plus the games was lying in a pool filled with ugly scams, corruption, news on stadiums and venues not meeting the desired standards. From any Indian’s perspective, it was absolutely pathetic to hear such rotten news about the games on frequent basis.
CWG 2010 – Corrupt wealth games
It is pathetic and shameful that corruption and politics are ailing sports in India. Media’s dutiful, timely (or untimely?) exposure of Commonwealth Games(CWG) scam should be a wake-up call for all concerned. The organizers should now focus on completing the pending infrastructure and probe the scam once the Commonwealth Games(CWG) gets over. Commonwealth Games (CWG) now has a new name “The Dirty games “
Devising the right solutions
The topic of discussion was about implementation of exchange programmes between urban and rural areas. The solution of exchange programmes between city and rural areas is too simplistic to be put into practice. A career-oriented city student will always avoid going to rural areas and it is futile to expect him to become an idealist for the government’s sake.
Is Kashmir Valley in ruins ??
Kashmir is an apt portrayal of how paradise can turn into hell. It is sad that such a beautiful creation of nature is often a victim of naive politics. Kashmir is convulsed by an unfortunate series of events, causing mounting concern.
The need for more civil servants!!!
The insensitivity, inefficiency and corruption has crept in because of the shelter and protection given to officers by selfish politicians. There is a happy mix of politicians, administrators and police officials which changes quickly with a change of parties. Government servants are supposed to be loyal to the country, but they remain loyal to individuals. Instead of increasing the corruption graph, we should do with minimum possible bureaucrats. The media and society need to do more to expose the undesirable activities, and strongly follow up till the culprits are brought to book
